REIMBURSEMENT FOR DISCONTINUED I-95 EXPRESS ROUTES

This legislative item concerns the authorization of $3,896,702.00 in Charter County Transportation Surtax Bond Program funds to reimburse the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) operating fund. This reimbursement is for a payment made to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the depreciated value and unauthorized mileage of 15 buses originally purchased for the discontinued I-95 Express Bus Service routes. The buses were redeployed to other routes after the service was discontinued in March 2020 due to decreased ridership and bus operator shortages.
