Miami-Dade County is holding a countywide special election on November 3, 2026, to vote on amending the Home Rule Charter. The proposed amendment would increase the residency requirement for candidates running for County Commissioner to 365 days within their district prior to the start of the qualifying period. This follows a recommendation from the Charter Review Task Force.
