Miami-Dade County is holding a countywide special election on November 3, 2026, to vote on amending the Home Rule Charter. The proposed amendment would create an independent, five-member Salary Commission to determine compensation for the Board of County Commissioners. This follows a recommendation from the Charter Review Task Force, which voted nine to one in favor. The resolution was sponsored by Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins.
