Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is set to ratify Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. S-930B between Miami-Dade County and Daniel O'Connell's Sons, Inc. This change order grants a 622-day non-compensable time extension for the construction of ST-2D-B South District Wastewater Treatment Plant (SDWWTP) Substations 5/6 and 15/16. The extension is due to extended fabrication and delivery delays of electrical equipment (415 days) and required shutdowns for installing new voltage feeders (207 days). The project aims to increase the SDWWTP's average daily flow capacity from 112.5 to 131 MGD and peak flow capacity from 285 to 305 MGD. The original contract award was $21,805,340.00. The Substantial Completion Date is extended from June 10, 2023, to February 21, 2025, and the Final Completion Date from July 22, 2023, to April 4, 2025. There is no additional fiscal impact. Small Business Enterprise (SBE) goals were met on the original contract, and Resolution R-525-17 exempts this time-extension-only change order from certain SBE compliance review requirements.
