Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering ratification of Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. S-930B between Miami-Dade County and Daniel O'Connell's Sons, Inc. This change order grants a 622-day non-compensable time extension for the construction of ST-2D-B South District Wastewater Treatment Plant (SDWWTP) Substations 5/6 and 15/16. The project aims to increase the plant's average annual daily flow capacity and peak flow capacity. The time extension is due to delays in electrical equipment fabrication and delivery caused by supply chain issues, and operational shutdown sequencing constraints for installing new voltage feeders. The original contract award was $21,805,340.00. The Substantial Completion Date will be extended from June 10, 2023, to February 21, 2025, and the Final Completion Date from July 22, 2023, to April 4, 2025. There is no additional fiscal impact to the County. The contract had SBE-Construction and SBE-Goods goals, but these do not apply to this time extension change order.
