Miami-Dade County Commissioners are directing the County Mayor or designee to coordinate with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to modify Field Permit No. 8042676-DA. The current permit covers specific segments of Crandon Park, Miami Beach (Government Cut to 3rd Street, 22nd Street to 26th Street, 26th Street to 32nd Street), Bal Harbour Pier, and Haulover Jetty. The modification seeks to increase efficiency in sargassum removal due to its increasing impact on tourism and resident quality of life. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded this resolution with a favorable recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC).
