Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering an ordinance to approve, adopt, and ratify non-ad valorem assessment rolls, rates, and assessments for Solid Waste Collection Services for Fiscal Year 2026-27. This ordinance will allow the Department of Solid Waste Management to continue collecting assessments at existing rates, with no increase from Fiscal Year 2025-26. The typical full-service residential household assessment will remain $702 annually. The proposed rates were not increased due to a prior decision on May 5, 2026, where a 2% Consumer Price Index adjustment was not approved. Service reductions are anticipated to be implemented on October 1, 2026, which are expected to have a social equity burden affecting all customers equally based on their service level. The assessments will be collected through the annual property tax bill.
