Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to authorize amended and restated county deeds for three properties. The resolution allows Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc. to convey these properties to its affiliate, Javon Gardens LLC. It also grants a two-year extension for obtaining final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units intended for very low, low, or moderate income households. The original conveyance was for single-family homes, but a prior resolution allowed for multi-family rental units. This current resolution extends the deadline to July 29, 2028, and permits the transfer to Javon Gardens LLC, a joint venture with Pyramid Construction, citing uncontrollable delays and financing difficulties as reasons for the extension and transfer. The Housing Committee forwarded this to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
