EXCHANGE PROPERTY BETWEEN COUNTY AND THE SOUTH FLORIDA

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to approve an exchange agreement with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The county will convey 3.889 acres of county-owned land, bounded by SW 26 Street, SW 28 Street, SW 173 Avenue, and SW 172 Court, to SFWMD. In exchange, the county will receive five fee simple parcels from SFWMD, totaling 1.318 acres, located along SW 157th Avenue between SW 42nd Street and SW 26th Street. This exchange is necessary for county roadway improvements to SW 157th Avenue. Both parties have elected not to reserve mineral rights. The SFWMD property is valued at $175,000, and the county property being conveyed is also valued at $175,000. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation.
