AMENDING THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY INVESTMENT POLICY
Intergovernmental and Economic Impact Committee · 2026-07-15 · resolution
Miami-Dade County is amending its Investment Policy. The changes include modifying the composition of authorized investments, removing the requirement for Board approval before investing in the Local Government Surplus Fund Trust Fund, and updating references to clarify the roles of the County Clerk and Comptroller. These amendments align the policy with recent changes in Florida Statutes regarding investments in bonds backed by the full faith and credit of the government of Israel, and adjust percentage thresholds for various investments based on consultation with the County's investment advisor, Hilltop Securities Inc. The policy also updates references due to the transition to independent constitutional county offices. The Intergovernmental and Economic Impact Committee forwarded this to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation.
