Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners rejected all proposals for the Landfill Gas Conversion Project (RFP No. EVN0019329) for the Department of Solid Waste Management. The rejection was due to all submitted proposals being deemed non-responsive by the County Attorney's Office. The County plans to resolicit, likely focusing only on the South Dade Landfill site due to viability concerns with the North Dade Landfill. The project involves designing, building, financing, operating, and maintaining facilities to convert landfill gas into Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) or Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Estimated development cost per facility was over $30,000,000. The County will seek market feedback before reissuing the solicitation. Five proposals were received by the October 15, 2025 deadline.
