SAME DAY PERMIT PROGRAM

Miami-Dade County is creating a Same-Day Permitting Program for certain minor residential projects. The program requires the County Mayor or designee to develop and implement it, and to provide semi-annual reports on its effectiveness. Eligible projects include fences (under 6 feet), gates, stairs/railings, driveways/pavers, trusses, pools, windows/doors/shutters/skylights/garage doors, roofing/re-roofing, kitchen/bathroom remodels, interior/partial demolition, prefabricated sheds, minor non-structural repairs, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing repair permits. Projects requiring structural review, located in historic districts, with open code enforcement cases, or to legalize existing violations are not eligible. Applicants must submit documents electronically prior to in-person or virtual review. Fees will be refunded if same-day approval is not achieved due to departmental delays.
