SAME DAY PERMIT PROGRAM

Miami-Dade County is creating a Same-Day Permitting Program for certain minor residential projects. The program requires the County Mayor or designee to develop and implement it, with reports submitted every six months. Eligible projects include fences up to six feet, gates, stairs, railings, driveways, pavers, trusses, pools, windows, doors, shutters, skylights, garage doors, roofing/re-roofing, kitchen/bathroom remodels, interior/partial demolition, prefabricated sheds, minor non-structural repairs, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repair permits. Projects requiring structural review, those in historic districts, with open code enforcement cases, or to legalize existing violations are not eligible. Applicants must submit documents electronically prior to in-person or virtual review. Fees will be refunded if delays are caused by the reviewing department. The program will be implemented via an implementing order.
