Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-371-26 on May 5, 2026, approving a bid-waiver contract to MAC195 Engineering Corporation for the Homestead Bayfront Park Marina Fire Line Replacement Project. The contract amount is not to exceed $5,932,439.72 for a period of 365 calendar days. This waiver was necessary because two previous public solicitations for the project received no bids. The project involves the demolition of the existing fire protection system and installation of a new one. The project is subject to sea level rise considerations and will aim for ENVISION Silver certification. Commissioner Bastien sought clarification on the bid waiver process, and Vice Chairwoman Steinberg recommended including more vendor history in future bid waiver documentation for transparency.
