Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee · 2026-07-14 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering accepting an Assignment of Option to Purchase approximately 10 acres within the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program South Dade Wetlands Project. The property is being sold by Timothy H. Noto and Ellen C. Noto, as Personal Representatives of the Estate of Rachel M. Noto, to Miami-Dade County for $3,500,000.00. Funding will come from the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond Program. The Nature Conservancy is the assignor. The Board previously approved acquisition in this area. The purpose of the EEL Program is to preserve environmentally endangered lands. The property is located at SW 344 St & SW 169 Ave and is within the Urban Development Boundary. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation on 7/14/2026. The Board is expected to make a final decision on 9/1/2026.
