EEL OPTION TO PURCHASE SOUTH DADE WETLANDS

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering accepting an Assignment of Option to Purchase approximately 10 acres within the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program South Dade Wetlands Project. The property is being sold by Timothy H. Noto and Ellen C. Noto, as Personal Representatives of the Estate of Rachel M. Noto, to Miami-Dade County for $3,500,000.00, funded by Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond funds. The Nature Conservancy is the assignor. The Board previously approved acquisition in this area, which is strategically located between Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park and is important for protecting the Biscayne Aquifer. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
