Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize an additional two years and $18,629,677.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00862, Fire Suppression Systems Services. This extension brings the total modified cumulative pool amount to $48,438,677.00. The pool supports multiple county departments, including Community Services, Solid Waste Management, Transportation and Public Works, Aviation, Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Fire Rescue. The extension aims to ensure continued compliance with fire and life safety codes, streamline procurement, and reduce administrative burdens. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation on June 8, 2026. The pool was originally established on October 2, 2018, for an eight-year term and has been modified previously. The current pool has eleven prequalified vendors, with six having local addresses and three being certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms. Due diligence on vendors found no adverse findings. The User Access Program applies, and Small Business Enterprise measures and Local Preference will be determined at the time of spot market competition.
