PHT MDFR MOU
Safety and Health Committee · 2026-06-08 · resolution
Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue Department (MDFR) and The Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County (operating Jackson Health System) are entering a no-cost Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Advance Tactical Medical (ATM) Training for all MDFR paramedics. The training, which includes classroom education, cadaver workshops, and hands-on patient care at the Ryder Trama Center, aims to enhance paramedics' skills in trauma care and high-acuity medicine. Priority will be given to members of Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force 1 and those assigned to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Special Response Team. The MOU has an initial term of five years with two five-year options to renew. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded the item to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation.
