Miami-Dade County Commissioners approved the first amendment to a land exchange agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The amendment modifies the original agreement, which involved the exchange of two parcels of land. The County is conveying 48,456 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010, located at 1851 NW 9th Avenue, Miami) to the College. In exchange, the College is conveying 48,102 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010, located at 1000 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami) to the County for use by the Public Health Trust. Key changes include removing the closing condition requiring the Public Health Trust to obtain a No Further Action Letter from DERM for environmental remediation, modifying environmental remediation provisions, adjusting the closing date definition, and establishing post-closing cooperation for information exchange. The original agreement was approved on December 3, 2024, and became effective January 6, 2025. This amendment was introduced on July 7, 2026, and approved on September 1, 2026.
