RESOLUTION APPROVING FIRST AMENDMENT TO LAND EXCHANGE

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved the First Amendment to a Land Exchange Agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The amendment modifies the original agreement for the exchange of land parcels. The College Parcel, consisting of 48,102 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010), located at 1000 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, is conveyed to the County for use by the Public Health Trust for its Emergency Department Expansion Project. In exchange, the County conveys 48,456 square feet of County-owned land (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010), located at 1851 NW 9th Avenue, Miami, to the College. Key changes in the amendment include removing the closing condition requiring the Public Health Trust to complete environmental remediation and obtain a No Further Action Letter from DERM, modifying environmental remediation provisions, adjusting the closing date definition, and establishing an effective date for the amendment. Parties will cooperate post-closing to exchange information on pre-closing environmental remediation and replat efforts. The amendment was introduced on 7/7/2026 and amended by the Safety and Health Committee on 7/13/2026. The original agreement was approved by Resolution No. R-1098-24 on December 3, 2024, and became effective January 6, 2025.
