RESOLUTION APPROVING FIRST AMENDMENT TO LAND EXCHANGE

Miami-Dade County Commissioners approved the first amendment to a land exchange agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The amendment modifies the original agreement, primarily by removing the condition that the Public Health Trust must obtain a No Further Action Letter from DERM for environmental remediation on the County Parcel before closing. Instead, the parties agree to accept the remediation performed to date and will continue groundwater monitoring post-closing. The exchange involves 48,102 square feet of land (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010) from the College to the County for the Public Health Trust, in exchange for 48,456 square feet of County-owned land (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010) to the College. The purpose is to allow the Public Health Trust to use the acquired land for parking to support the new Emergency Department Expansion Project at Jackson Memorial Medical Center. The amendment also adjusts the closing date definition and effective date, and includes post-closing cooperation for information exchange regarding remediation and replat efforts. The decision was approved.
