Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved the award of a contract to Horizon Contractors, Inc. for roadway improvements to NW 58 Street, between NW 97 Avenue and NW 79 Avenue. The project, with a 730-day term, involves reconstructing the existing roadway into a four-lane road with continuous center turning lanes, dedicated bike lanes, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and a modern storm drainage system. Enhancements also include new pavement markings, signage, upgraded traffic signalization, and roadway lighting. The project is funded by Mobility Impact Fees. Eight bids were received, with Horizon Contractors, Inc. submitting the lowest base bid. The contract value is $17,933,304.63, including a construction contingency allowance and other allowances.
