Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering an Interlocal Agreement with the City of North Miami for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, which has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options, is at no cost to Miami-Dade County as the City will cover program costs from its Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds. The service, which began in July 2023 and is operated by Freebee using four Tesla Model X and two Tesla Model Y vehicles, aims to enhance local mobility and complement existing bus routes. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item with a favorable recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners. The Board is expected to approve the agreement, authorizing the County Mayor or designee to execute it.
