The City of Cocoa Beach is planning to assign up to two School Resource Officers (SROs) to work at designated Brevard Public School campuses. These officers will provide security, drills, and safety training. The program is planned to begin with the 2026-27 school year, with a minimum of two SROs assigned. The SROs will work up to 220 days per year, aligning with the school calendar. Assignments will be coordinated with Major Robert Cline and will support Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High and Roosevelt Elementary schools. This initiative is currently under review and represents an early opportunity for businesses that provide security services, law enforcement support, or related educational safety programs to engage with the city and school district before final plans are set.
