The City of DeLand is reviewing plans to replace an existing bridge with a box culvert on Old Daytona Road. This project, funded by an FDOT grant, will be designed to FDOT standards. The initial phase involves hydraulic analysis to determine the best box culvert size, considering factors like headwater elevations and floodplain impacts. Following this, outlet protection and erosion analysis will be conducted, with the scope depending on the final culvert size. A technical memorandum will document these findings, and permitting support for an SJRWMD Environmental Resource Permit or Noticed General Permit will be provided. This project is currently under review, offering an early opportunity for contractors, suppliers, and service providers. Work could eventually involve site clearing, grading, utility work, concrete and paving for the culvert, and final landscaping. Engaging now allows businesses to connect before final plans and bids are set.
