J. VGMC INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACT ASSESSMENT:
City Commission Regular Meeting · 2026-06-15 · agenda_item
A rezoning and future land use amendment is under review for approximately 22.44 acres located southwest of the intersection of Orange Camp Road and Interstate 4 in DeLand. The property is currently zoned for commercial and agricultural uses by Volusia County and is proposed to be rezoned to City of DeLand C-2 General Commercial. This change would allow for commercial development, including retail, personal services, fast food restaurants, and convenience stores with gas pumps. The project is currently under review by the City Commission, having passed its first reading. Future development orders will be subject to capacity determinations. The project would involve site clearing, grading, utility work, paving, building construction, and landscaping. Local contractors, trades, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to engage early in the process before site plans and permits are finalized to understand potential opportunities.
