The City of Destin Public Works Public Safety is reviewing a proposal to re-stripe Kelly Street and Commons Drive. These collector roads currently do not meet maintenance standards for their long line striping due to significant daily traffic. Staff is recommending approval to contract with Emerald Coast Striping, Inc., the city's current services contractor, to perform this necessary maintenance. This project would involve site preparation for line striping, including cleaning and possibly minor surface repairs, followed by the application of new traffic line paint. The work is planned to move forward to City Council for final approval. Local contractors specializing in site prep, grading, paving, and painting services, as well as suppliers of traffic control equipment and striping materials, could find opportunities.
