The City of Fernandina Beach is planning a significant redevelopment of its marina. This project includes demolishing the existing Brett's building, partially replacing the original bulkhead, and installing an updated fuel system. Dredging will be performed, and a new pier system will be constructed, standing about 2.5 feet higher than the current walkway. Parking Lot A will serve as a staging area during construction, and a temporary construction tunnel will be built for access to marina facilities. The project is currently under review, with bids expected in the next week, award by late June, and construction starting in late July. This redevelopment will involve site clearing, demolition, underground utility work for the fuel system, bulkhead and pier construction, and dredging. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to reach out early to learn more about this project as plans and permits are being finalized, as this offers an advantage in securing potential work.
