The City of Jacksonville Beach is planning a new potable water well, identified as Well #16, and a raw water main extension. This project is located near the intersection of 6th Avenue North and Palm Tree Road. The work involves clearing and preparing land, drilling and constructing the new well, testing it, and connecting it to the city water system. It also includes installing a new pump, pipes, valves, electrical systems, concrete pads, a driveway, fencing, and drainage improvements. Additionally, about 740 feet of new 12-inch underground PVC water pipe will be installed along 6th Avenue North to connect with the existing water system at 11th Street North, followed by roadway repair and repaving. There is also an optional part that may replace an old water main, relocate service connections, and replace a fire hydrant. This project is currently under review for bid award. The scope of work will involve site clearing and grading, underground utility installation, concrete and paving, electrical and mechanical systems, and final landscaping.
