The Northeast Florida Water Management Consortium (NFUCG) is planning a multi-year effort focused on water resource management and planning. This initiative involves participation in regulatory processes for the Lower Santa Fe and Ichetucknee Rivers, review of proposed Minimum Flows and Levels (MFLs) for the Suwannee River Basin, and technical support for developing and updating regional groundwater models, including the Northeast Florida Southeast Georgia (NFSEG) Regional Groundwater Model. The NFUCG will also evaluate and participate in the update of the North Florida Regional Water Supply Plan (NFRWSP), which is expected to begin in 2026. This project is currently in the planning and review stages, with detailed scopes to be developed as the water supply planning process evolves. The work will likely involve data analysis, groundwater and surface water modeling, strategy evaluation, and peer review. Opportunities exist for engineering consultants, technical service providers, and legal experts to engage in this ongoing planning and development process. Early involvement could provide an advantage as detailed scopes and technical services are defined.
