- Chair Amaro informed the committee that he attended a special meeting on Friday, August 14, 2026, in his capacity as the City Council liaison to the JEA Board, at which the results of the City-sponsored JEA survey regarding Ms. Vickie Cavey, CEO of JEA, were presented. He encouraged committee members to review the results. Chair Amaro stated that allegations of a toxic work culture and racism were unsubstantiated, but that the JEA Board is nevertheless pursuing executive coaching for JEA's C-suite.
