5. Disaster Assistance Rental Housing — Changes in the strategy description: The changes expand
City Commission · 2026-05-05 · agenda_item
The City of Kissimmee is proposing technical revisions to its Local Housing Assistance Plans (LHAP) for 2022-2024 and 2025-2028. These changes will broaden disaster assistance to include owners of rental properties, in addition to renters. The City Commission is scheduled to review and potentially approve these proposed changes. Following local approval, the plans will be sent to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC) for final approval. If approved by the FHFC, the amendments will become effective immediately. This process is currently under review and could lead to future opportunities for contractors and suppliers involved in housing assistance programs, property rehabilitation, and related services. Early engagement with city staff or departments involved in housing programs may provide insight into upcoming needs.
