The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) of Pensacola is reviewing improvements planned for the Vince Whibbs Sr. Community Maritime Park Blue Wahoos Stadium. These planned upgrades include converting the baseball field from natural grass to synthetic turf, updating stadium lights to LED, removing and building new bullpens, constructing new batting cages, and purchasing training tables, dishwashers, and surveillance equipment. The project also involves internet and phone upgrades, replacing chairs, painting, and making repairs to seats, flooring, electrical outlets, and elevators. This item is currently under review by the CRA. The scope of work involves site preparation for turf conversion, electrical work for new lighting, concrete and framing for new bullpens and batting cages, and various interior and exterior finish trades. Suppliers of building materials, turf, lighting, and specialized equipment may also find opportunities. Early engagement with the project stakeholders could provide an advantage as plans and bids are developed.
