The Titusville Environmental Commission is reviewing proposed changes to land use policies related to wetland conservation. Specifically, Policy 1.16.3 is being updated to limit allowable uses in conservation land use areas to residential uses of one dwelling unit per five acres, conservation, and passive recreation. This policy also aims to limit wetland impacts to no more than 1.8% of each residential development's total conservation land use. Policy 1.16.2 is being updated to require environmental assessments and wetland delineations for future development, using updated mapping data. The commission has also recommended Strategy 1.16.2.1, which requires a determination of total wetland acreage before changes to conservation land use are considered. These policy reviews are currently under review. This process could lead to future site development projects requiring services such as site clearing, grading, environmental assessments, wetland delineation, and potentially construction of low-density residential units.
