Collier County is reviewing a proposal for approximately 52 acres located southwest of the intersection of Copeland Avenue South and Plantation Parkway in Everglades City. The property, currently a mix of vacant undeveloped and partially developed land, previously saw partial development for the Outlook Marina and Resort around 2004-2008. A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment has been completed, identifying a recognized environmental condition related to a 2012 airplane crash involving Jet A fuel and potential PFAS release. The project is currently under review by the Board of County Commissioners. This review process could lead to future site clearing, grading, potential remediation, and construction activities.
