The Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is reviewing potential projects and initiatives. FDOT is addressing drainage issues along US 41 and collecting data on roadside trash. Ongoing work includes resurfacing, upgrades, and lane/sidewalk closures on Alligator Alley, the I-75/SR 951 interchange, and SR 82. The MPO is also considering hosting the MPOAC Weekend Institute locally and reviewing legal contracts, including an Interlocal Coordination Agreement. Staff are exploring university contracts to reduce study costs and will present on Traffic Incident Management to support future technology planning. This early stage in the planning process presents opportunities for contractors, suppliers, and service providers. Work could involve site preparation, utility work, paving, and specialized trades as projects move forward. Engaging now allows businesses to understand upcoming needs and position themselves for potential future contracts.
