Collier County is reviewing proposed changes to land use and zoning regulations. These changes include a potential hotel or motel development of up to 76 rooms on 2.63 acres located north of Piper Boulevard, west of Palm River Boulevard. Another proposal involves amending the Town of Ave Maria Stewardship Receiving Area to add 2,042 acres, increasing dwelling units by 6,738 and non-residential space by 996,000 square feet. Additionally, the Town of Big Cypress Stewardship Receiving Area may add 451.75 acres, increasing dwelling units by 1,367. A separate proposal seeks to rezone 71.46 acres south of Holly Avenue, west of Bayshore Drive, for up to 90 single-family homes.
