BOA Meeting Minutes to be adopted for July 23
Planning & Zoning / Board of Adjust. · 2026-08-27 · minutes
The Columbia County Board of Adjustments approved Special Exception SE251202 for a 195-foot AGL monopole telecommunication tower and support facility for T-Mobile at 202 SW William Young Lane, Lake City, Florida. The applicant is VB BTS III LLC, with Law Office of Mattaniah S. Jahn as agent for Robert Arsua and Bonnie Kate. The property is zoned agriculture. The motion to approve carried 4-1, with Jeff Todd voting in opposition. The case was previously tabled on 03/26/2026. Public comment included opposition from residents and Attorney Guy Norris, citing concerns about legal standing, neighborhood incompatibility, property value loss, lack of need, and safety/environmental issues. Support was voiced by the deceased landowner's daughters and others, citing lack of cell service and dropped calls. The meeting also approved the June 25, 2026 meeting minutes.
