The Board of County Commissioners of DeSoto County met to discuss upcoming projects. Several developments are under review, including a 150-unit residential project at County Road 760 and County Road 108, and a commercial development at US 17 and County Road 664. Other planned projects include a light industrial development near County Road 760 and County Road 764, a commercial project at County Road 760 and County Road 17, and a commercial shopping center near County Road 760 and County Road 762. Additionally, a 100,000 square foot commercial development is planned for 10 acres at County Road 760 and State Road 72, and a 100 single-family home development is proposed for 30 acres at County Road 760 and County Road 150. The Spring Lake Drainage Project and the establishment of the Oak Stone Community Development District are also under review, potentially creating work for civil engineers, surveyors, utility contractors, concrete companies, and landscapers.
