The Indian River County MPO is reviewing its 2026 List of Priority Projects, which will be used to develop the FY 2028, FY 2032 work program. This list is how transportation improvement projects are added to the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) five-year work program. The list includes categories such as Highway Projects, Regional Highways, Congestion Management Process, Transit, and Bicycle & Pedestrian Projects. For 2026, no changes are proposed for Highway Projects, Regional Highways, or the Congestion Management Process. A new project is being added as the top transit priority: a vehicle building maintenance addition to expand GoLine's ability to maintain its growing fleet. Seventeen unfunded bicycle and pedestrian projects from the 2024 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan remain, and an application for TAP funding was submitted for the 28th Ct. Sidewalk in Gifford. This review process is early in the planning stages, before specific site plans, bids, or permits are settled. Contractors, suppliers, and service providers in construction, engineering, and transit support could find opportunities as these projects move forward.
