The Indian River County MPO is reviewing its Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for Fiscal Years 2027 through 2031. This program outlines planned transportation projects, including highway improvements, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian projects. Specific projects include multimodal safety improvements on 45th Street, widening of CR 510 and Aviation Boulevard, paving of 82nd Avenue, intersection improvements at US 1 and Aviation Blvd, widening of US 1, widening of CR-512, resurfacing of I-95 and Sebastian Boulevard, guardrail installation on the north county line, intersection improvements at SR-5/US-1, resurfacing on SR-60, bridge repair at Barber Bridge, bridge replacement at Sebastian Bridge, and resurfacing on Jasmine Lane and Sebastian Bridge. The TIP is currently under review and includes projects in various stages, from planning and design to right-of-way acquisition and construction, with construction phases scheduled from FY 2027 through FY 2031. This process will involve site clearing, grading, utility work, paving, and potentially structural work for bridges. Local contractors, trades, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to engage early to understand the scope and timing of these projects, as opportunities for bidding and sub-contracting will arise as the TIP progresses through its planning and funding stages.
