The Indian River County MPO is reviewing its 2026 List of Priority Projects, which will be used to develop the FY 2028, FY 2032 work program. This list identifies transportation improvements needed soonest and is how projects are added to the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) five-year work program. The list includes categories such as Highway Projects, Regional Highways, Congestion Management Process (CMP), Transit, and Bicycle & Pedestrian Projects. A new transit project, vehicle building maintenance addition, is proposed as the top transit priority to expand GoLine's vehicle maintenance capabilities. Additionally, seventeen unfunded bicycle and pedestrian projects from the 2024 Master Plan remain on the list, with an application submitted for the 28th Ct. Sidewalk in Gifford. This review process is early in the planning stages, meaning that contractors, suppliers, and service providers can engage now to understand future needs before detailed plans and permits are finalized. Early engagement allows businesses to position themselves for potential work in site preparation, utility installation, road construction, transit facility upgrades, and related trades as these projects move through the FDOT work program.
