The Tourist Development Council of Marion County met to discuss various agenda items. Several potential local business opportunities were identified. These include a new development project near SE 17th Street and SE 36th Avenue with 150 apartment units, which could involve land clearing, grading, civil engineering, surveying, utility work, concrete, paving, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, and building material supply. Additionally, a new hotel project is planned near SE 103rd Street and SE 104th Street. The council is also reviewing a funding request for a new tourism attraction and allocations for Fiscal Year 2026 events, which could lead to opportunities for event service providers.
