Miami-Dade County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing an additional three-year term and two one-year options to renew for Contract No. BW733-2/25, for Documentum software license, support, and maintenance services. The expenditure authority is increased by $7,346,096, bringing the total modified amount to $13,405,520. This contract, held with OpenText, Inc., supports the Communications, Information and Technology Department (CITD) on behalf of County departments and Constitutional offices. The software manages enterprise web content (TeamSite) and enterprise content (Documentum), including millions of mission-critical documents and supporting over 30 County websites. The extension is considered the most cost-effective approach to ensure uninterrupted service while future procurement requirements are developed. During a committee meeting, concerns were raised by Vice Chairwoman Milian Orbis regarding the affiliation of constitutional offices with the County's services, their contribution to costs, and data separation. Mr. Jose Lopez of CITD responded that the department supports several constitutional offices, is analyzing ramifications of potential service discontinuation, maintains open dialogue, and confirmed data is not mixed and is maintained securely. The Tax Collector's Office expressed it was not funding resources for service growth, but no discussions of shutting down occurred.
