Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-496-26, approving Contract No. GC191 between the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and Miami-Dade County. This contract, effective for a five-year term from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031, delegates petroleum contamination cleanup site management activities to the County. The County will be compensated an estimated total of $13,009,610.00 over the contract term for these services, which include reviewing technical reports, managing subcontractors, and administrative duties related to petroleum contamination cleanup. The services are provided Countywide to prevent environmental damage, protect public health, and restore land. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to execute the contract and any amendments for time extensions under specific conditions. The Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) has been providing these services since 1988.
