Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-504-26, approving the first amendment to the Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Arquitectonica International, Inc. for the Coconut Grove Playhouse project (Project No. A-14-CUA-01). The amendment increases the contract amount by $4,248,887.00, bringing the total contract value to $6,647,567.00. This increase covers additional professional services for the design and construction administration of a parking garage building and addresses compensation revisions due to regulatory delays and prolonged litigation that impacted the original scope. The contract term is extended from six years to a total of 14 years, with two additional one-year options. Funding is from Convention Development Tax Bonds (Special Obligation Bond Series 2005) and parking revenues. The project involves the rehabilitation of the historic Playhouse Gateway Building, construction of a new theater building and campus, and associated site work, including asbestos abatement and structural stabilization of the historic front building.
