Miami-Dade County Ordinance File Number 260868 amends Sections 31-102 and 31-107 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida, revising vehicle age requirements for passenger motor carrier vehicles (PMCs). The ordinance allows PMCs providing circulator or fixed route services to operate up to 20 model years of age or 350,000 miles, whichever comes first, provided they remain in compliance with all applicable County inspection requirements and vehicle standards. This change was prompted by a resolution from the City of Coral Gables urging the County to amend the age limit from the previous general limit of 10 model years and a limit of 15 model years for circulator or fixed route services. The ordinance was adopted on first reading by the Board of County Commissioners on June 2, 2026, and forwarded with a favorable recommendation by the Transportation Committee on July 14, 2026. The effective date is ten days after enactment.
