Miami-Dade County Ordinance File Number 260868 amends Sections 31-102 and 31-107 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida. The ordinance revises vehicle age requirements for passenger motor carrier vehicles (PMCs) providing circulator or fixed route services. Previously, these vehicles had a maximum age of 15 model years. The amendment allows these specific PMCs to operate up to 20 model years of age or 350,000 miles, whichever comes first, provided they remain in compliance with all applicable County inspection requirements and vehicle standards. The City of Coral Gables urged this change via City Resolution No. 2026-76. The ordinance was adopted on first reading by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on June 2, 2026, and was forwarded to the BCC with a favorable recommendation by the Transportation Committee on July 14, 2026, with amendments. The ordinance is effective ten days after enactment.
