Miami-Dade County Commissioners approved the award of Contract No. EVN0013523 to CODEX Corp. for a Rounds, Inmate, and Detainee Tracking Management Solution. The contract is valued at $7,000,000.00 for an initial five-year term with one, five-year option to renew. This solution will be implemented across all four Miami-Dade correctional facilities and any future facilities, replacing paper logbooks with a tablet-based platform for inmate welfare, safety checks, head counts, and movement tracking. Commissioner Milian Orbis inquired about the current tracking methods and facility implementation. Chief Moreno explained the integration of two systems, the tablet-based platform, and the elimination of paper logs. He confirmed implementation at all four current facilities and future ones. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded the item with a favorable recommendation.
