TRANSIT SECURITY GRANT FROM DHS TOTALING $627,835

Resolution R-525-26, File Number 260993, adopted by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners on 6/16/2026, retroactively authorizes the County Mayor's application for, acceptance of, and expenditure of a $627,835.00 grant from the Fiscal Year 2025 Transit Security Grant Program of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency. The grant funds will support security training exercises led by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, in coordination with the Department of Transportation and Public Works, to enhance safety and resilience of the County's transportation system. No local match is required. The period of performance is September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2028. The grant was applied for on August 15, 2025, and the agreement was executed on November 21, 2025. The grant supports countywide services. The resolution also authorizes the County Mayor or designee to execute amendments and expend funds as necessary.
